How it works
They come from many walks of life and demanding jobs, paid and unpaid, including:
- the health service, teaching, social services and the media
- business people from small and large companies
- complementary therapists, creative artists, office workers, engineers, prison staff
- Others come because of a demanding home life as carers of small children, the elderly or the disabled
- some are wealthy, others have little
- some are facing or have survived major illness
- Some are shy and don't want to speak (nor do they have to), others come simply because they are curious
- some have a lot of experience of meditation and spiritual practice, most have none at all
- some follow a traditional religious path, others are exploring contemporary and alternative paths
