July 26: Inner Work - Discovering your Core Essence
Finding your True Self - discarding the masks
Your core essence, the very centre of your being, is like a little flame which can never get blown out, or a place that remains absolutely quiet and steady, untroubled by any noise, stress or upset that's going on outside.
On the other hand, your personality is the part of you that thinks thoughts, feels emotions and has physical sensations. All of these things are in a constant state of change, and as normal human beings we tend to identify with these parts, believing that's who we really are.
These are all the masks we wear and the roles we play. In the language of psychology, this is your persona, which is directed by the ego, which leads us to believe 'This is me'.
With practice, particularly by developing the habits of meditation and contemplation, you can begin to access and experience your core essence separate from the clamouring voice of your personality, and begin to hear the authentic quiet voice at your core.
During this workshop we will explore the differences between the 'true Self' and the 'everyday self', increasing your psychological awareness of why you do what you do and how you can create more harmony, balance and strength within by connecting with your real self, your core essence.
