Assessment and Certification You do not have to participate in the assessment and certification process. Being part of the group for your own learning and experience is enough and you are very welcome. The teaching, inclusivity and participation will be exactly the same, you will simply not have to do the written portfolio at the end of the course. However, you will have to complete the written Self-reflective Review to become a Spiritual Companion, to join the SC community and to be able to use the SC feather logo. This means you need to reflect in writing on your relationship with each of the 20 SC Guidelines. This will be assessed by your peer group and your tutor (Kate) and another SC Educator. It doesn't qualify you to be an SC professionally, but it does mean you can demonstrate CPD in Spiritual Companionship alongside your other professional qualifications. Professional Accreditation - optional Having completed the SC course and written up your Self-reflective Review, you can then go on to apply to train for your Certificate of Professional Practice in Spiritual Studies and Companionship, accredited by the College of Teachers, Institute of Education, University of London, a recognised national award. This means you are able to practice publically as a Spiritual Companion. Please do talk to Kate if you are interested in doing the professional training as there are various options we can consider for you.
